Treating patients is not always about prescribing a medicine or performing a surgery. Sometimes, it’s about listening or showing them you care.

Patients battling cancer can benefit from oncology esthetic treatments as they are often fighting battles on multiple fronts, impacting their world both internally and externally.

Our expert Medical Aesthetician, Caitlin McGuire, has specialized training in Oncology Esthetics. This means that she is able to provide safe, restorative skincare treatments and customized regimens for those who are currently undergoing treatment, have recently finished, or are in long-term survivorship. Caitlin has a passion for helping patients feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.

Dr. Morgenstern has pioneered extended research in oncology and has developed several patents on medications and methodologies that can help prevent complications from chemotherapy. Our goal is to create an opportunity for family, friends, and patients themselves to participate in the healing process in a safe haven of specialized care.

Oncology skincare is an advanced field of study within esthetics. It focuses on the effects cancer treatments have on the skin and enables the provider to be able to administer safe skin care treatments by making modifications to techniques and ingredients.

Oncology skincare is meant to soothe the side effects of cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, medication, surgery, and radiation.

Oncology skincare treatments are appropriate for anyone currently undergoing treatment, in recent recovery, or long-term survivorship.

Depending on the type of cancer treatment the patient is currently undergoing, as well as what their current side effects are, the treatment will be tailored to their specific needs. Treatments will often involve acupressure or modified massage, calming and hydrating products and ingredients, while avoiding overstimulation in the skin with things like harsh exfoliants or steam. All Philadelphia Oncology Esthetics treatments will begin with a thorough skin analysis and health history.
