For the vast majority of patients, BOTOX® injections are not a painful experience. In fact, this injectable is a great way to get facial rejuvenation results fast without downtime and with the most minimal discomfort. You may feel a little pain or discomfort depending on your tolerance for needle injections. Some people prefer to have the area numbed with ice or a topical anesthetic before the injection, but other people don't feel these measures are necessary at all.
It is possible to experience certain side effects in the hours and the first day or two after BOTOX® injections. At the injection site, you may experience some of the following side effects:
- Pain
- Swelling
- Redness
- Bruising
