A Face They’ll Remember With Juvederm

Your face puts in a lot of work – smiling, laughing, flirting, and occasionally maybe even frowning. It is how we communicate. Over time, all these movements cause your face to be one of the first areas of your body to age. These deep folds and creases in your skin can be dramatic and send the wrong message to others but that doesn’t mean you have to live with it!

With dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, or Sculptra in Lancaster, PA administered by our specialist oculofacial plastic surgeon at the Morgenstern Center can rejuvenate these youthful facial qualities.

Juvederm is designed for adults and is not intended to resolve any underlying medical conditions. There are a variety of volumizing formulas to choose from, each intended to treat different types of wrinkles or hollows. Both cosmetic and reconstructive issues can be safely improved with the use of Juvederm hyaluronic acid gel.

Choosing which Juvederm solution to go with depends largely on the results you are looking for and the problem we are trying to address. Our Lancaster Juvederm experts are ready to discuss your aesthetic goals and establish a tailored treatment plan to meet them.

Your injector will help you determine which filler is best for you, We require that prior to receiving Juvederm Lancaster patients have a consultation with our aesthetic specialists.

At your appointment, we will discuss your concerns and your goals. If Juvederm is right for you we will recommend the correct product to use. We will inject Juvederm into the treatment areas we are trying to improve. The surgeon injecting the filler is important because the process is as much an art as it is science.

The surgeon is educated in the anatomy and musculature of the face and understands what it takes to soften the lines and hollows in a safe and effective way. Prior to the injection of Juvederm, Lancaster oculofacial plastic surgeon, Dr. Morgenstern will discuss whether local or topical anesthetic is needed. At our office in Lancaster Juvederm experts are ready to discuss your aesthetic goals and establish a tailored treatment plan to meet them.

Different gauged needles will be selected for different treatment areas based on the type of filler being used and the area being injected.

A topical anesthetic may be applied prior to injection; however, the treatment is quite tolerable on its own due to the fact that it is infused with a small amount of anesthetic already. This has been shown to decrease patient discomfort by 90% on its own. This coupled with Dr. Morgenstern’s gentle touch ensures a pleasant experience. Your skin will then be cleaned and prepped prior to injection.

What Can I Expect After Juvederm?

You can return to work, socializing, or any other non-athletic activities immediately after your appointment. There is no downtime for Juvederm.

Your results should be immediately apparent, and they will continue to finalize for the next few days. Results last about 6 - 9 months for most Lancaster Juvederm patients, at which point another treatment or touch-up would be necessary to refresh your results.

After your treatment, you may experience mild tenderness and swelling that typically goes away within 24 hours. Bruising and needle marks may last a few days. Some areas are more prone to bruising than others.

Certain medications and supplements may increase this risk such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils, garlic, ginkgo. It is also advised to avoid alcohol, especially, red wine, for 1-2 days prior to your injections to decrease bruising risk.

VOLUMA, VOLBELLA, and VOLLURE (VOLIFT outside the US) are the three latest fillers from Juvederm. They are formulated with a 90% low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and only 10% high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (HMWHA). Most fillers are 100% High molecular weight hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance found in your skin and joints. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume.

Benefits Of Vycross™ Technology:

  • The filler is smooth & natural looking
  • Less pain when injecting
  • Natural look
  • Results that can last up to 18 months

This produces an ultra-smooth gel for a more natural look and feels, minimal swelling and bruising, as well as improved duration. The Juvederm Vycross™ range of dermal filler products is longer-lasting, smoother to inject, biodegradable, and reversible.

What Do Juvederm Fillers Do, Exactly?

Juvederm Voluma is ideal for improving mid-face volume (such as cheeks) and non-surgical rhinoplasty. It is often considered the most cohesive and elastic of the Vycross™ range.

Juvederm Volbella is the perfect choice for those who are looking for longer-lasting results in dealing with under-eye hollows and crows’ feet. While this product is the least cohesive and least elastic out of the Vycross™ range, this actually makes it preferable for the tear trough treatment because it is much easier to get it into the areas where it is most needed.

Juvederm Volift is the most recent of the Vycross™ range to be released. It is perfectly suited for longer-lasting results for depressions in the nasolabial folds but also creates beautiful sharpness and definition for your lips.
