Endoscopic Browlift
What is an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
More people every year choose cosmetic surgery to help address their aging concerns. It used to be mostly people over 50 requesting these procedures but now over 30% of our patients are between the ages of 35 and 50.
Some of the first signs of aging are seen in the forehead and eyebrows. These wrinkles and sagging features create a heavy and tired look. An Endoscopic Brow lift can help alleviate this while creating a more youthful rested appearance. A brow lift can be performed alone or with other procedures such as with eyelid surgery or facelift procedures.
What is the Procedure?
A browlift is performed as an outpatient procedure under twilight or general anesthesia.
In this state of the art procedure, a fiberoptically-enhanced instrument is inserted through several small incisions placed behind the hairline. These instruments are connected to a monitor that allows for the procedure to be performed under direct vision. The muscles and tissues causing the wrinkling are released and repositioned creating a smoother, younger and fresher appearance. In some instances absorbable implants may be used to help in the healing process.
After surgery
There is minimal discomfort after the surgery. Any pain can be managed by oral pain medication. Occasional patients may experience a mild headache for the first 24 hours. You will go home with a head dressing which can be removed in 4 -5 days. Any sutures will be removed in 2 weeks and any bruising or swelling should resolve within 7-10 days.
Results
You can expect reduced wrinkling of your forehead with a more natural youthful look to your eyebrows while avoiding the extensive scarring and the surgical look of the older techniques.
