Global pharmaceutical company Allergan has announced the FDA approval of Botox for its third indication, the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe forehead lines associated with frontalis, or muscle thinning activity in adults. This recent approval makes Botox the first and only neurotoxin specifically geared toward the improvement of three facial treatment areas: crow’s feet, forehead lines, and glabellar lines. “Allergan recognizes that forehead lines are a top area of concern for patients,” says David Nicholson, chief research and development officer at Allergan.
Botox is approved for use in over 75 countries and is manufactured under strict quality and safety standards. Both the safety and effectiveness have been evaluated in Allergan clinical studies.

**NEW** JUVEDERM® VOLBELLA™
JUVEDERM® VOLBELLA™ is a new facial filler specifically designed for gently restoring natural-looking lip volume and defining lip contours.
This new formulation results in less swelling and delivers a natural look and feel.
The effect is instant and long lasting. It is clinically proven to last up to a year in the lips with a single 0.55 ml treatment.
JUVEDERM® VOLBELLA™ is made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar found in your body which helps maintain volume and elasticity in the skin.
It is broken down by the body in one or two days and is constantly replaced.
However, as we age, this replacement mechanism diminishes and the moisturising and plumping effects of HA decrease.
For this reason, HA is used in dermal filler procedures to help restore lost hydration and improve the skin's volume and texture.
What makes this filler unique is its patented Vycross technology which, through more efficient cross linking, produces greater lift capacity and longer lasting results.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT BEFORE TREATMENT?
Dr Morgenstern or Dr. Giacometti will have an in-depth consultation to understand your concerns and which facial features you would like to enhance.
They will explain all the options to make sure that your treatment satisfies your expectations.
If you have sagging or drooping eyelids or eyes that always look puffy, eyelid surgery might be right for you. Please take this quiz to find out if you're the right candidate for this procedure:

This rejuvenating procedure restores a more youthful facial appearance. When you meet with one of our experienced oculo-facial plastic surgeons, they will discuss all aspects of this surgery with you. In the meantime, here are some face lift terms to know:
- Rhytidectomy: Another term for "face lift" surgery. This term is generally considered more technical than the latter. You may hear either term when discussing the procedure with your surgeon and other people.
- Mid-face sagging: The mid-face is exactly what it sounds like – the middle section of your face. It generally includes the area below the lower eyelids and above the upper lip. As you grow older, sagging in this region is quite common and expected. Fullness and volume become deflated in this area, leading to a tired, aged appearance.
- Jowls: "Jowling" refers to the sagging of skin from your jaw line. A face lift can restore a tighter jaw line.
- Nasolabial folds: These deep lines extend from the corners of your nose to the corners of your mouth. A face lift smoothes and softens these creases.
The only way to know if a face lift is right for you is to schedule a one-on-one consultation with our experienced oculo-facial surgeons. To arrange your consult in Wayne, PA, please call Morgenstern Center at (610) 687.8771.
Lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is a restorative procedure. If you are unhappy with the way the area below your eyes has aged, then lower eyelid surgery may be right for you. Our experienced oculo-facial plastic surgeons can determine whether lower eyelid surgery can accomplish your desired outcomes.
In some cases, our facial surgeons may recommend combining upper and lower eyelid rejuvenation, but it's not uncommon to perform the lower technique alone. We may also recommend rejuvenating the skin with CO2 laser resurfacing. This combination can provide very attractive, natural-looking rejuvenation results.
A consultation is necessary to find out if you're a good candidate for blepharoplasty. Generally speaking, the following problems can be addressed:
- Bags under your eyes
- Fat deposits under your eyes
- Wrinkles on the lower eyelids
This procedure can have a dramatic effect on the youthfulness of your face. But to achieve results that also look natural and not "overdone," you should choose a surgeon who has extensive experience and a record of positive reviews for blepharoplasty. The facial surgeons at Morgenstern Center are not only prestigiously trained, they have a personal commitment to each of our patients. Their goal is to offer advanced care and outstanding results that will allow you to feel confident and youthful.
To find out if eyelid rejuvenation is a good match for your goals, please arrange a consultation with our experienced Wayne, PA oculo-facial surgeons by calling Morgenstern Center at (610) 687.8771.

If you are unhappy with the appearance of a double chin, then Kybella may be right for you. This completely non-surgical injection melts the fat under your chin, restoring a defined, youthful facial contour.
The only way to know if Kybella is right for you is to schedule a one-on-one consultation with the plastic surgeons at Morgenstern Center. During your consultation, we'll get to know you and discuss your cosmetic goals. Our plastic surgeons want to listen to and understand your wishes so that they can make customized recommendations. Generally speaking, Kybella may be right for you if any of the following apply:
- You are unhappy with the extra fat beneath your chin
- Your chin has taken on a "turkey wattle" appearance because of extra fat
- You are interested in a non-surgical way to remove the fat
- You are interested in a fat-melting treatment that has no recovery or downtime
- You are ready to commit to the 2-6 treatment sessions required to reach your best results
Even though Kybella is non-surgical, the results achieved are long-lasting, possibly even permanent. Although it's possible for new fat deposits to form, the fat cells that are melted are melted permanently.
If you live in or around Wayne, Philadelphia, King of Prussia or The Main Line, PA, and if you want to find out if you are a good candidate for Kybella under-chin injectables, please call The Morgenstern Center at (610) 687.8771. During your consultation with our experienced plastic surgeons, we'll help you decide if this treatment is the right way for you to accomplish your cosmetic goals.
The cost of blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) in Pennsylvania varies by provider and by procedure. Each plastic surgeon has his or her own fees, and it's a good idea to schedule a few consultations to get an idea of the range. But keep in mind that cost is only one factor you should consider, in addition to these other factors:
- The plastic surgeon's experience providing eyelid surgery
- How often the plastic surgeon performs eyelid surgery
- The plastic surgeon's training – whether it was focused in plastic surgery
- The plastic surgeon's patient reviews and before-and-after photos
It's also impossible to provide a cost estimate without a consultation because there are several ways to perform eyelid surgery. The final cost is influenced by whether you decide to have upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery or both together. The experienced plastic surgeons at Morgenstern Center will help you decide which methods are appropriate to get the final results you want.
In addition to providing you with a cost quote at your consultation, our experienced staff will explain your financing options. We will help you determine whether upper eyelid surgery is covered by your insurance and whether a payment plan through CareCredit is something you are interested in applying for.
If you are interested in blepharoplasty in the greater Philadelphia area, please call Morgenstern Center, at (610) 687.8771, to schedule a consultation with one of our experienced plastic surgeons.
A double chin can hurt your confidence and feelings of self-esteem. Perhaps you developed under-chin fullness as a result of aging or weight fluctuations, or you may have always had excess fat in that area. Fortunately, there is now a way to eliminate that fat without surgery. Kybella™ is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and reduces submental fullness, which is fat under your chin. Essentially, Kybella has the effect of liposuction but without anesthesia, incisions or sutures.
To find out if Kybella is right for you, please contact our experienced staff. Our patients love the many advantages offered by this injectable:
- Melts fat under your chin
- The fat cells that are eliminated, are eliminated permanently
- Takes only 2-6 treatment sessions to reach ideal results
- Each session takes only about 20 minutes
- Go back to your normal activities right away
- No surgery or recovery period
The ingredient that makes it all work is called deoxycholic acid, and it also occurs naturally in your body. Deoxycholic acid dissolves fat cells. It does so by breaking down their membranes.
Start feeling more confident and youthful. Please call The Morgenstern Center at (610) 687.8771 to schedule a consultation. We are personally committed to helping you find the right cosmetic options to achieve your goals. Our surgeons proudly serve Wayne, King of Prussia, Philadelphia and all of the surrounding areas.
Round, full faces make many people look young—there’s a reason we frequently refer to this type of facial shape as a “baby face.” But as we age, our faces tend to grow thinner, and our cheeks lose their rounded shape. This can create a gaunt appearance that ages the face. If you want to restore the more youthful, rounded look of your cheeks, you may wish to try Voluma.
Voluma is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler designed to restore volume in the cheeks. It may be right for you if:
- Your cheeks have a gaunt, hollow appearance
- Your cheekbones appear less prominent
- You have wrinkles or excess skin around the cheeks
- Your default expression looks like you are sucking the inside of your cheeks
The active ingredient in Voluma is hyaluronic acid, which is present in other dermal fillers like Juvederm and is naturally produced by the skin. As we age, our bodies are less capable of producing hyaluronic acid in the quantities it did when we were young. By supplementing your body’s natural production of hyaluronic acid with injections of Voluma, you can keep the skin on your face looking young!
To find out whether Voluma is the right solution for your facial issues, visit the Suite 202 Spa at the Morgenstern Center, serving King of Prussia, Wayne, and the greater Philadelphia area. To arrange an appointment with our spa or certified oculo-facial surgeons, contact us by filling out a form on this page, or by calling (610) 687.8771.
There are all sorts of cosmetic reasons people choose to get upper eyelid surgery, but the procedure is not always about how you look. If you suffer from ptosis, which causes one or both upper eyelids to droop over the eye, the surgery may be the difference in you being able to see at all.
Ptosis can occur for a variety of reasons at any age. Doctors stress the importance of treating myogenic ptosis in children as quickly as possible, because a drooping eyelid can negatively affect the eye’s development and possibly lead to “lazy eye” syndrome. At any age, however, the condition can be distracting, affecting peripheral vision and facial expressions. Fortunately, blepharoplasty on the upper eyelid can quickly correct the issue.
You may be a candidate for upper eyelid surgery if:
- Your eyelid is drooping due to functional issues
- You have excess skin above your eyelid, causing it to sag
- Drooping eyelids are making it harder for you to see
- Your facial tissue is otherwise generally healthy
- You do not smoke or are willing to quit
- You have no illnesses that could impact the healing process
- You have a positive outlook and realistic goals for the procedure
If you suffer from a drooping eyelid and need surgery to correct the procedure, you should contact the oculo-facial surgeons at the Morgenstern Center. Our surgeons are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology to perform surgeries around the eyes, which they can do safely and skillfully. They are among the few surgeons near King of Prussia that focus on oculo-facial plastic surgery, and are dedicated to providing excellent service to all.

The recent release of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery’s (ASAPS) statistics have confirmed what many facial surgeons have long known: eyelid surgery is an incredibly popular procedure, the fourth most popular procedure in the country. Most interesting, this is the only procedure appearing in the top five that targets the face: the other four all have to do with fat removal or the appearance of the breasts.
What is it that makes eyelid surgery so much more popular than well-known procedures like the face lift? One reason might be the increasing popularity of dermal fillers and injectables, which can create excellent results without the need for facial surgery. There are no fillers that treat baggy or droopy eyelids, so eyelid surgery has remained popular.
There’s also the fact that eyelid surgery can patients who have a wide variety of facial surgery goals, including:
- Looking less tired
- Improving vision and alertness
- Removing “bags” from under the eyes
- Restoring the natural curve of your eyelid
- Accentuating the size and shape of your eyes
If your eyelids are interfering with your vision or just don’t look right, you ought to consider scheduling a consultation with Dr. Ken Morgenstern or Dr. Joseph Giacommetti, the oculo-facial surgeons at the Morgenstern Center. They have extensive experience working on eyelids, and can help you meet your goals for the procedure. Contact them at (610) 687.8771. The Morgenstern Center serves patients in King of Prussia, Wayne, and Philadelphia.
Not all plastic surgery options are purely aesthetic in nature. There are many procedures that have practical benefits and results. Whether you have problems resulting from trauma, disease, or other issues, the surgeons at the Morgenstern Center can help you decide on the right reconstructive surgery option to address your particular needs. These include, but are not limited to:
- Eyelid reconstruction: it's easy to tear the delicate and thin skin of the eyelid through trauma; if you've had a tumor or other growth removed, you may need an eyelid to have the tissue restored.
- Earlobe repair: wearing heavy earrings for a long time can elongate your earlobe or even tear through; trauma to the earlobe can also necessitate repairs.
- Scar revision: if it's been at least a year since you've gained a scar, especially on your face or neck, you can look into having this procedure to minimize its appearance, so it is less visible.
- Tear drain surgery: particularly painful, having a blocked tear duct can result in irritation and infection
These and other procedures are available under the skilled hands of the surgeons at the Morgenstern Center. They will help you explore all your options and decide on which, if any, procedure is right for you. As with all surgeries, it's important to trust your body to the right surgeons and medical team.

Skin care is a long-term process. Like exercise or dieting, it's much more effective if you put in a little work every day rather than try to fix everything in a short amount of time. The skin rejuvenation solutions offered at the Morgenstern Center, like dermal fillers and other services, are a good way to set you on the path toward healthy skin, but it's what you do every day afterwards that really counts.
The following habits can help you get and maintain healthy skin:
- Get plenty of sleep every night
- Apply sunscreen daily
- Exfoliate your skin once a week
- Use a cleanser that doesn't contain alcohol
- Consume less sugar
- Consume more antioxidants
- Manage your stress levels
It's best to focus on these habits starting in your 20s, but even starting later than that can help improve the quality of your skin. The important thing is to regularly follow a skincare routine that keeps your skin healthy looking and fresh.
If you occasionally want to touch up your skin with some extra-special care, you can take advantage of the Morgenstern Center's Suite 202 Spa, which offers the following facial rejuvenation services:
- Laser skin treatments
- CO2 laser
- Microdermabrasion and chemical peels
- Rejuvapen microneedling
- TCA peels
To schedule a skincare appointment at Suite 202 with the professionals at the Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery, fill out a form on this page, or contact us at (610) 687.8771. We serve patients in Wayne, Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
One of the first areas of the face to show the signs of aging is along your jawline. Sagging skin under your jaw and along your neck, deposits of fat under the chin, and developing vertical “bands” of skin in your neck can all combine to make you look older than you are or than you feel. Fortunately, the skilled plastic surgeons at the Morgenstern Center can individualize a facial rejuvenation procedure that may include a neck lift.
A neck lift procedure is surgery and carries with it all the usual risks of having a surgery performed and will require a few weeks of downtime to recuperate. Depending on your situation, needs, and outcome desire, a neck lift may involve:
- Removing or reshaping of fat in your neck
- Tightening your neck muscles
- Tightening your skin
- Removing excess skin
- Botox® injections to address the “band” look of fullness
- Juvederm Volift injections to sculpt the jawline and reduce appearance ofjowling
A neck lift usually involves making small incisions under your chin or near your ears in order to remove or relocate fat and, in the case of Botox® injections, to access the platysma muscle in your neck to relax it. With less fat and drooping skin around your jawline, it will be sharper and more defined, restoring that youthful look that has gradually disappeared.
At the Morgenstern Center, our level of experience with neck lift surgeries and facial reconstruction in general makes our surgeons an excellent option for treating your unflattering jawline. Contact us by filling out the form at the top of this page, or by calling (610) 687.8771. The Morgenstern Center is proud to serve Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
We've all woken up after too little sleep to find puffy bags under our eyelids. But you may find, as you get older, that these puffy bags refuse to go away, even if you've had a full night's sleep. Chances are that your puffy eyelids are an inherited condition that develops as you age and your skin becomes less elastic. At this point, you may wish to consider blepharoplasty at our Philadelphia offices for a solution.
Puffy eyelids are caused by an excess of fluid in the tissue surrounding your eyes. Because the skin around your eyes is so thin, the fluid tends to bulge here. Many people have this happen to them, but when they are young the swelling is not as apparent and tends to go away after a few hours. As you age and your skin gets less elastic, the bags under your eyes stay there.
Fortunately, lower eyelid surgery can help. You can also treat the skin under your eyes with other solutions, including:
- CO2 Laser treatment
- Dermal fillers
- Microderm abrasion
- Chemical peels
However, if the puffy skin around your eyes is noticeable and permanent, you may wish to consider surgical options to remove it. Contact the oculo-facial surgeons at The Morgenstern Center to decide which solution is the best for you. You can call our office at (610) 687.8771. We serve clients in Philadelphia, Wayne, King of Prussia, and throughout the tri-state area.
There are all sorts of reasons why you could be considering facial surgery in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Perhaps you are starting to feel like the face you see in the mirror every morning bears little resemblance to your own self-image. Perhaps you are hearing comments, at home or at work, about how tired you look. Whatever your issue, you need to know whether or not a face lift could help make things better.
It's easy enough for most people to qualify for facial surgery. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there are three conditions patients must meet:
- They must be in good general health, and be capable of healing normally.
- They must not smoke, or be willing to quit for a period of time leading up to the surgery.
- They must have realistic expectations for the procedure and a general positive outlook.
If you feel like you meet these criteria, the only question left is whether a facelift will give you the results you desire. While less invasive methods of removing wrinkles, like dermal fillers, have become more popular in recent years, they tend to last for a year or less. Facial surgery is a long-term means of removing wrinkles and restoring youthfulness to your expression.
If you would like some professional advice before going through with your facial surgery, schedule a consultation with the oculo-facial surgeons at The Morgenstern Center in Wayne. We can be reached by phone at (610) 687.8771, or you can contact us through this website.
If you've noticed your cheeks seem a bit sunken, you may have hollow cheeks. Hollow cheeks are mainly found in older adults when the body stops making enough collagen and elastin, two proteins that keep skin plump and firm. Radiesse® is an option our surgeons at the Morgenstern Center can use to smooth the wrinkles and fill-out your cheeks to regain the youthful look you've lost.
Loss of fatty tissue exacerbates the look of hollow cheeks; extreme athletes, if not properly nourished, can also show signs of hollow cheeks. The loss of these proteins and the fatty tissue can also manifest in sagging skin along the jawline. A lot of sun exposure and smoking can increase the development of hollow cheeks. While hollow cheeks are a sign of natural aging, you don't have to accept the way they make you look, especially the winkles and facial lines that come with them.
Radiesse® is a process that injects a filler made of Calcium Hydroxylapatite microspheres and an aqueous gel under the skin. It immediately provides plumping volume to fill out the wrinkles, but also encourages your body to make its own collagen and elastin. Your body will gradually absorb the gel and the microspheres will be metabolized, but your body will continue to produce the proteins needed. An injection can last for over a year, but you may need more than one injection to get optimal results. Radiesse® is mixed with an anesthetic to reduce pain.
If you're interested in seeing if Radiesse® is right for you, contact us by filling out the form at the top of this page, or by calling (610) 687.8771. The Morgenstern Center is proud to serve Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
If your eyes are not looking as youthful as they once did or the skin around your eyes is interfering with your vision, you may be a good candidate to consider blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. Eyelid surgery is intended to rejuvenate the areas around your eyes to help make you look younger in a natural way and to remove hindering skin or eyelids to your vision.
Upper eyelid surgery helps with:
- Upper eyelids that droop, sag, or bag
- Sagging eyelids that obscure your sight
Excess fat or skin in the upper eyelids as well as sagging skin due to aging can cause the lids to sag so much as to push on your eyelashes and obscure your vision. You may need a brow lift instead if the sagging in your upper eyelids is caused by sagginess in your brow.
Lower eyelid surgery helps with:
- Lower eyelids that droop
- Bags under your eyes
- The fine lines and dark circles that appear under your eyes
- Excessive fat under your eyes
You can look younger and refreshed with a lower eyelid surgery that often can be combined with a CO2 laser treatment to help tighten the skin of your lower lids.
The surgeons at the Morgenstern Center can help you determine if eyelid surgery is right for you. Contact us by calling (610) 687.8771 or by using the contact form. The Morgenstern Center is proud to serve Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
Prolonged exposure to the sun, while giving a tanned and healthy appearance in the short-term, can lead to health problems in the long-term, such as skin cancer. Scaly, red lesions on the skin, known as solar keratosis, are early signs of skin cancer and can develop into squamous cell carcinomas. Sun damage is also a leading cause of wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. There are multiple procedures designed to help rejuvenate your skin if it's been damaged by the sun. In your consultations with our experienced facial surgeons, you may want to consider laser resurfacing to counteract sun damage.
Laser resurfacing uses high-energy light in brief doses to vaporize layers of skin to remove damaged areas or to smooth wrinkles. During the healing process, your skin produces new growth to replace the small areas removed during the treatment. For sun damage, abnormal skin cells are usually seen in the top layers of the skin, making laser treatment a good option. Since laser resurfacing is tightly controlled, it does little damage to surrounding areas. Newer laser treatments, such as fractional or plasma resurfacing, cause even fewer complications than the most common type of laser, the CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser, resulting in faster healing and recovery.
If you are concerned with the amount of sun damage on your skin, contact the Morgenstern Center for a consultation at (610) 687.8771 or by filling out our contact form. Our experienced surgeons and staff can help you determine the right procedure to rejuvenate your skin. The Morgenstern Center is proud to serve Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
We've all seen the celebrities who seem to have had their foreheads frozen through too much or improperly-injected BOTOX®. They look youthful, but not especially natural. Such a procedure is used to smooth out or eliminate winkles in the forehead due to aging or sun exposure, or to fix sagging or drooping brows, but there are other ways to get the look you want. You may want to consider a brow lift. Brow lift techniques differ in the size and locations of the incisions, but all seek to smooth the skin of the upper third of one's face by lifting the brows and forehead. The two major types of a brow lift are:
- The classic lift, which uses one continuous cut at the level of your ears, following your hair line.
- The endoscopic lift, which utilizes a small camera on a thin tube to get a view inside, minimizing the number and length of incisions.
The latter of these techniques is less invasive and usually results in less discomfort and quicker recovery time. Other procedures you may consider at the same time as a brow lift are eyelid tucks, a facelift, or skin resurfacing.
At the Morgenstern Center, oculoplastic surgeons Dr. Ken Morgenstern and Dr. Joseph Giacometti are surgical specialists of the face and eyes. They can help determine the best procedure for you. Contact us by filling out the form at the top of this page, or by calling (610) 687.8771. The Morgenstern Center is proud to serve Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
There’s nothing that can make you look older quite as quickly as eyelids that droop down farther than they’re supposed to. Droopy eyelids can also make you appear uninterested or un-energized, traits that can make social interaction a little trickier than normal. While some dermal fillers may be able to alleviate the drooping, in general your best long-term option is probably blepharoplasty.
- Blepharoplasty can be used to treat:
- Drooping, puffy eyelids
- Bags beneath the eyes
- Lower eyelids that droop down
- Semi-permanent dark circles beneath the eyes
- Fine lines above or below the eyes
- Drooping that hides the eye’s natural curve
Before getting blepharoplasty or any other facial surgery procedure, it’s a good idea to come to the Morgenstern Center for a professional consultation with our oculo-facial surgeons. An examination of your eyelid’s excess skin and elasticity will give us a better idea of what options are available, and which are most likely to work.
At the Morgenstern Center, our level of experience with blepharoplasty surgery and facial reconstruction in general makes our surgeons an excellent option for treating your droopy eyelids. Contact us by filling out the form at the top of this page, or by calling (610) 687.8771. The Morgenstern Center is proud to serve Philadelphia, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
Face lifts are not one-size-fits-all. Every person who comes to our Wayne face lift surgeons have different needs based on their individual plastic surgery goals and unique facial features. Part of our surgeons’ job is to take this information and recommend the best possible procedure.
But what if one single procedure doesn’t adequately cover your needs? In that case, we have plenty of combination face lift procedures that take aspects of several different operations, and we combine them into one plan designed to maximize your cosmetic surgery results. One of our most popular such procedures is the Main Line Face Lift.
The Main Line Face Lift combines four procedures:
- Endoscopic brow lift
- Upper blepharoplasty
- Lower blepharoplasty
- Laser resurfacing on lower eyelids
The result is an “eyes-and-up” face lift that works great for patients whose wrinkles have mostly accumulated around the eyes and forehead. With the help of our experienced oculo-facial surgeons, you can have years removed from your face. And of course, we have plenty of other options that we can combine into a facial surgical procedure that works well for you!

Blocked tear ducts can be painful and dangerous to the long-term health of your eyes. Fortunately, the professional oculo-facial surgeons at The Morgenstern Center have the qualifications and experience to offer King of Prussia revision surgery on your tear ducts when necessary. But when does it become necessary?
The first step in determining whether you need tear duct revision surgery is to figure out whether you have a blocked tear duct. Symptoms of a blocked tear duct include:
- Inflammation of the tear duct and eye
- Tenderness and swelling in the skin around the tear duct
- Frequent eye infections
- Mucus discharge from the eye
- Blurred vision
- Tears tinged with blood
- Persistent fever
- Crusty eyelashes
Next, you should determine whether there are alternatives to surgery. Tear duct revision surgery is a big step and should not be taken lightly. Your doctor at The Morgenstern Center can help you figure out whether antibiotic drops, dilation, intubation, or "flushing" of the eyes can resolve the problem.
If other strategies fail, you should set up an appointment with the oculo-facial surgeons at The Morgenstern Center. Our professional staff and experienced doctors will fix your tear duct blockage quickly and with minimum discomfort. Contact us if you live in Philadelphia, Wayne, King of Prussia, or the surrounding areas. We can be reached by phone at (610) 687.8771.
"Are you tired?" "Do you need to lie down for a second?" If your eyelids have begun to lose their elasticity, you may be used to hearing people ask these questions because your eyelids make you appear uninterested or tired. And unfortunately, that perception can change the way people treat you.
If you'd like to be treated like the alert, energetic person you feel inside rather than the tired, lethargic person other people are seeing, you may want to consider eyelid surgery. When perfomred by an experienced oculo-facial surgeon, this process can stop excess skin around the eyes from making your eyes look small and your eyelids heavy.
Candidates for eyelid surgery:
- Have cosmetic problems with the skin around their eyes that can be solved with the surgery.
- Have a positive outlook and specific goals for their surgery.
- Do not smoke, or are willing to stop smoking.
- Do not have any serious eye conditions.
- Do not have any serious illnesses or life-threatening conditions.
Before you get the surgery, you will sit down for an initial consultation with one of our professional oculo-facial surgeons. They will explain the procedure and give you some idea of what to expect from your results. If the cost of eyelid surgery is difficult for you to afford, we can help you see if your insurance plan covers it, or if you qualify for a payment plan.
To schedule your initial consultation at The Morgenstern Center, contact us at (610) 687.8771. We serve patients in Wayne, King of Prussia, and Philadelphia.
When you get a facial surgery procedure done, the recovery time is usually significant, and it may be even longer before you see the results. One of the reasons some patients choose BOTOX® to get rid of smaller wrinkles is because the procedure doesn't have this lengthy post-op period.
Instead, patients who choose BOTOX® only need to wait a day or two for the swelling from injections to go down, and many see results in as little as 3-5 days! In fact, because the initial swelling tends to get rid of wrinkles too, you may see a smoother forehead almost instantly.
Other benefits of choosing BOTOX® to eliminate facial wrinkles:
- More affordable than plastic surgery
- Temporary results allow you to try it and see if you like it
- Can reduce migraine headaches
- No major side effects
- May reduce the further development of facial wrinkles
Come to the Morgenstern Center for all your BOTOX® and oculo-facial surgery needs. We have surgeons qualified to perform dermal filler procedures that give you a natural, energized look, and will do everything we can to match your goals. At the Morgenstern Center, our Philadelphia facial surgeons know how difficult good-looking facial surgery can be to achieve. Not only are facial surgeries easier to "botch" than many other procedures, they come under more scrutiny as well: people look at your face every day, and trying to conceal your face will often make you more conspicuous. You need a facial procedure that will work for your face.
Because every face is different, and requires a different approach to get optimal results, we offer several different facial surgery procedures, each one treating a different part of the face. At your initial consultation with our facial surgery experts, you should decide which procedure (or combination of procedures) would work best for you.
Facial surgery procedures offered by The Morgenstern Center include:
- Face Lift: Treats sagging and wrinkled skin below the eyes.
- Brow Lift: Treats wrinkled, sagging skin on the forehead.
- Cheek Lift: Removes jowls and tightens skin in the cheeks.
- Neck Lift: Removes excess skin from the neck, tightens the jawline.
- The Main Line Face Lift: Tightens skin around and above the eyes.
To learn more about what each of these procedures can do for your face and which one is the best fit for you, contact the Morgenstern Center to set up an appointment with our facial surgery experts at (610) 687.8771. The Morgenstern Center serves patients in Philadelphia, Wayne, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
The science of studying facial expressions and body language is still relatively new, but one general rule has been observable for a long time: having a pleasant expression makes other people act more pleasantly toward you. If you smile, people tend to find you more attractive and approachable, while a stern expression can make you appear forbidding or depressed.
Why is this important to a plastic surgeon? Because if you are a suitable candidate for eyelid surgery, the chances are that your eyelids are already affecting the way people respond to you in social situations!
Candidates for blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, often have:
- Excess skin between their eyelids and eyebrows
- Eyelids that appear droopy, puffy, or baggy
- Vision that is obscured by sagging eyelids
- Permanent "bags" beneath the eyes
Any of these physical features can make you appear less alert, or less interested, than you actually are. Others can make you look "squinty"--if people have asked you repeatedly whether you need glasses, it could be because you look like you're squinting all the time.
Eyelid surgery will remove excess skin from around your eyes, making them more prominent on your face and giving you a more open, alert expression. This has the possibility of improving your interactions with the people around you. If you have happy, bright eyes that match your attitude, you should let others notice them!
To learn more about whether eyelid surgery is right for you, set up an initial consultation with the oculo-facial surgeons at the Morgenstern Center. Contact us at (610) 687.8771 today. The Morgenstern Center's facial surgery services are available to people from Philadelphia, Wayne, King of Prussia, and the surrounding areas.
Of all the types of plastic surgery you can get, none requires more of a deft touch than facial surgery. Our eyes are very good at noticing and reading faces, and our eyes are frequently able to pick up the slightest hint of asymmetry or abnormality in someone's face.
This means that a facial plastic surgeon has to be extremely good at creating natural-looking surgical outcomes. The problem, from your perspective, is that it's difficult to tell what sort of results a doctor can give you until the surgery is already performed. So how do you decide which facial surgeon you're going to trust beforehand?
The best way to determine whether you are comfortable with a facial surgeon is to arrange an in-person meeting. This gives us a chance to show you past examples of surgeries and explain the procedure.
Ideal surgeons should:
- Have many before-and-after pictures to give you an idea of their skill level
- Make you feel comfortable in their office
- Be able to effectively explain your surgical options and what they mean
- Put your goals and expectations first when planning the procedure
- Be willing to answer any questions you may have
At The Morgenstern Center, our oculo-facial surgeons strive to provide a level of personal service that goes above and beyond the standard doctor's visit. We understand that you are putting your appearance in our hands, and we want to earn the level of trust that requires. To schedule an initial consultation today, contact us at (610) 687.8771. We serve patients in King of Prussia, Wayne, and the surrounding areas.
The news release explained that many dermal fillers can be unintentionally injected into blood vessels within the face, where they can block blood flow. In some cases, this may cause patches of your skin and face bones to die. In more serious cases, the blockage can travel through your circulatory system, causing blindness or even a stroke.
The FDA report mentions the importance of finding a doctor with plenty of training and experience, and we at the Morgenstern Center feel it necessary to highlight this statement. We've encountered people from many medical professions who have little to no training or experience with cosmetic surgery, and yet they still believe that they can apply BOTOX® to a patient with no ill effects.
Generally, these amateur practitioners don't worry about poor results from their fillers because the fillers' effects are temporary. But if those fillers get into your bloodstream, the damage can be far more permanent.
At The Morgenstern Center in Wayne, Pennsylvania, we believe that expertise and experience should count for something when you are deciding who you want to entrust with transforming the appearance of your face. Our oculo-facial plastic surgeons have spent years learning about the structure of the face and eyes, and still more years performing various plastic surgery procedures. We know what we are doing, and we care about your comfort enough to explain everything to you beforehand.
If you want to get your dermal fillers from experienced and knowledgeable professionals, then look no further than The Morgenstern Center! Contact us through this website or by calling (610) 687.8771. We serve Wayne, King of Prussia, Philadelphia, and the surrounding areas.
Screenwriter Nora Ephron, the creative mind behind movies like When Harry Met Sally, had a unique gift for exploring universal human experiences, so it's no surprise that she wrote a book called I Feel Bad About My Neck. Of all the issues we hear about from patients who visit our Philadelphia-area practice, the neck is one of the most frequent problem areas. Fortunately, the neck lift surgery we offer can address most of the issues that prevent you from looking as young as you feel.
A neck lift can be used to:
- Remove excess skin and fat around the neck
- Get rid of the "turkey wattle" that forms as you age
- Smooth out the vertical bands of skin that can form on the neck
- Jowls caused by skin relaxation in the lower face
Lots of people go to a plastic surgeon to fix the small-but-significant details of their faces: the nose, the eyebrow, the corners of the mouth. But nothing on the face can age you quite as noticeably as the large, smooth areas covered with nothing but skin, like the forehead and the neck.
The good news, however, is that the large, smooth areas of the face are often the ones that give you the most options for cosmetic solutions. At your initial consultation with our doctors, you can decide what you would like changed about your neck, and whether surgery or an alternative solution like dermal fillers are the best option for your goals.
If you live in Philadelphia, Wayne, King of Prussia, or the surrounding areas, and you think a neck lift would improve your appearance and self-confidence, then contact the Morgenstern Center today. Call (610) 687.8771 to schedule a consultation with our experienced and professional cosmetic surgeons.
According to the 2014 cosmetic surgery statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, cosmetic surgery among men has grown 43 percent over the past five years. Plastic surgeons and other people have attributed this rise to a number of factors, such as:
- To stay competitive in the workplace by retaining a youthful look, which in turn can make you feel more confident and self-assured. Many men see achieving this competitive edge as an investment in their career success.
- A greater emphasis on a healthy lifestyle has left many men just wanting to look better. Like women, men can get unsightly, stubborn bulges. They can also get enlarged male breast tissue and drooping skin. Cosmetic surgery provides a way to make your physical appearance better reflect your inner feelings of youthfulness, vitality and masculinity.
According to the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the average age of men undergoing cosmetic surgery is 45 years old. The same study went on to say that men between 30 and 40 were more likely to get non-surgical treatments, while men age 50 to 70 were more likely to get surgeries like face lifts and eyelid surgery.

When it comes to BOTOX® and other non-surgical injectables, it's important to do your homework. As NBC Nightly News reported last month, virtually all types of physicians – from family doctors to dentists – are increasingly offering BOTOX® at their practices. While the majority of these physicians are providing this service legally, you may be better off choosing a physician who:
- Specializes in cosmetic procedures
- Has extensive training in facial anatomy
- Has extensive experience performing BOTOX® injections
It's easy to forget the even non-surgical procedures carry the risk of complications and adverse results. When BOTOX® is injected improperly, the result could be a drooping eyelid or eyebrows that drop downward, which is why it is so important for your BOTOX® injector to understand how the facial muscles and anatomy work. As oculo-facial surgeons, Dr. Morgenstern and Dr. Giacometti specialize in procedures of the face, head and neck. They know how to use injectables to get the desired result, and they know of all the possible adverse events and how to prevent them. You deserve to get great results from BOTOX®.

It's May, so we're about halfway through the Spring season. Throughout Philadelphia, temperatures are warming, days are growing longer and we're getting more days of full sun. It's a perfect time to remind yourself and your loved ones of the importance of properly protecting your skin when you're out enjoying the sunshine. The experienced oculo-facial surgeons at Morgenstern Center do perform surgical repair of skin affected by skin cancer, and you can see the results possible at the gallery of skin cancer before-and-after.
Failing to protect your face from sun exposure can lead to:
- Increased risk of skin cancer from UV exposure
- Premature aging on your face, including wrinkles, fine lines, sagging and loss of volume
- Increased risk of cataracts and skin cancer around the eyes
Here are our top tips for protecting your skin from excessive UV exposure:
- Wear a sunscreen that provides broad spectrum protection (protects against both UVA and UVB rays)
- Wear UV-blocking sunglasses, which is essential to protecting your eyes and the surrounding area
- Wear a wide-brimmed hat, which provides additional protection for your face and neck
- Seek shade when possible and desirable
- Wear clothing that protects you from the sun, such as long sleeves, or tops that at least cover your shoulders and other high-exposure areas

Brow lift surgery restores a more youthful forehead after it has begun to droop and descend. When your brow begins to sag, it can have a dramatic effect on the overall appearance of your face. It can also affect your confidence and the way you feel about yourself. As a result of brow sagging, you may have noticed one or more of the following:
- Horizontal wrinkles across your forehead
- Hooding of the upper eyelids
- An angry or tired expression even when you aren't experiencing those feelings
There are several brow lift techniques used by our experienced oculo-facial surgeons. The right technique for you will depend on how severely the brow is sagging and what you want your final results to look like. Dr. Morgenstern and Dr. Giacometti are both experienced in endoscopic and direct brow lifts, as well as mid-forehead lifts and pre-hairline lifts. They are personally committed to achieving the cosmetic result that allows you to feel the most confident and rejuvenated.
To find out if you are a good candidate for brow lift surgery to restore a more youthful facial appearance, please call Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery at (610) 687.8771.

Eyelid surgery continues to be one of the top cosmetic procedures performed in the US, according to recently released data. Eyelid surgery, also called "blepharoplasty," can rejuvenate the appearance of your eyes and your entire face by removing puffy, sagging upper and lower eyelid skin.
Each year, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons releases annual statistics collected from the databases of their member surgeons and from surveys sent to board-certified physicians around the country. These statistics provide unique insight into changes in the cosmetic surgery industry over time.
The ASPS just recently released statistics for cosmetic procedures performed in 2014. Within the report is the list of Top 5 cosmetic surgical procedures. Eyelid surgery is number 4 on the list. Facelift is in the number 5 spot, with breast augmentation, nose reshaping and liposuction in spots 1, 2 and 3 respectively. These surgeries are in the top 5 because they were the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries in 2014.
If you are interested in finding out if eyelid surgery is right for your facial rejuvenation goals, please call Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery to schedule a consultation. Our experienced Wayne, PA facial cosmetic surgeons serve all of the surrounding areas, including Philadelphia, The Main Line and King of Prussia.
Facial plastic surgery includes a wide array of surgical procedures. These procedures may be cosmetic or reconstructive in nature. Your face is an important part of your body. It helps you express yourself and it helps you communicate with other people. Additionally, many of your senses – including sight, smell and taste – are related to facial function. If there is an area or feature of your face you would like to enhance or reconstruct, then facial plastic surgery may be right for you.
In 2014, 3 of the 5 Top Cosmetic Surgery Procedures were facial procedures, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. These 3 procedures were:
- Nose surgery
- Eyelid surgery
But these are just 3 of many facial plastic surgery procedures we offer at Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery. Our experienced facial surgeons are highly trained and highly specialized in facial surgery, and they can help you develop a treatment plant that will best fit your goals, expectations and idea of affordability.

After face lift surgery, you'll need to take some time to let yourself rest and recover. A recovery period is normal following just about any type of surgery. During your consultation, we'll discuss with you exactly what you should expect from your face lift recovery, which may include:
- Not driving for a few days
- Taking about 2 weeks off from work
- Taking time off from strenuous exercise for a few weeks
Our surgeons may also recommend Arnica and a vitamin regimen after surgery. This regimen minimizes our patients' post-operative bruising and swelling.
After your face lift surgery, it's normal to experience some discomfort and mild pain. Our oculofacial surgeons will recommend a pain medication – normally an OTC medication like Tylenol does the trick. You'll also have swelling and bruising, which will be most pronounced for the first several days after surgery. After about a week, much of the bruising and swelling should be gone and you can apply makeup to cover what remains.
The nature of your recovery also depends on the type of face lift you receive. Certain techniques involve less extensive re-shaping of tissue, and may not require as much downtime.

As a man or woman in your 40s, you have probably begun to develop saggy, droopy upper eyelids. This type of aging around the eyes is a normal part of growing older and losing elasticity in your skin. When you have drooping eyelids, it can make you feel less confident about your appearance. To other people, you may appear tired or frustrated because of the effect the eyelids have on the appearance of your whole face.
To restore a more youthful appearance, you may be considering a surgical option. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about drooping, excess skin other than surgery. Eyelid surgery is a very common procedure that removes excess skin, and excess fat when appropriate, on the upper eyelid.
Most people want to know that the results of eyelid surgery will look natural. Our experienced oculofacial surgeons perform eyelid surgery routinely and know how to produce results that rejuvenate your face without looking unnatural. Eyelid surgery of the past used to remove too much eyelid skin, resulting in a sunken upper eye appearance that can make people look even more aged. Our surgeons know how to avoid this look and provide you with great results that will allow you to feel confident, youthful and attractive.
If you live in or around Philadelphia, The Main Line, King of Prussia or Wayne and you want to find out if eyelid surgery is right for you, please call Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery at (610) 687.8771 to schedule a consultation.
When meeting with one of our experienced facial surgeons to discuss eyelid surgery, you should ask us any questions you have on your mind. We want you to be armed with all the information possible as you decide whether to elect facial surgery. If you are unsure of what questions to ask during your consultation, consider including these ones:
- Are you certified by any of the 24 medical specialty boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties?
- Do you have specialized training in facial plastic surgery and/or oculoplastic surgery?
- How many eyelid surgery procedures have you performed?
- How routinely do you perform the procedure currently?
- Can I see before-and-after photos of your past eyelid surgery patients?
- What are the possible complications of eyelid surgery?
- What will you do if one of these complications or another occurs during my surgery?
- Where will the surgery be performed?
- Is the surgical facility properly certified and licensed?
Our oculoplastic surgeons are personally committed to providing you with open, candid answers and they are eager to help you access all the information you want. We believe educated patients are the ones who are most satisfied with the surgical experience and with their eyelid surgery results.
If you live in or nearby Wayne, Philadelphia, The Main Line, or King of Prussia and are interested in eyelid surgery, please call Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery at (610) 687.8771 to schedule a consultation.
Considering eyelid surgery? Consider these top 5 things to know about the procedure:
- It rejuvenates the appearance of your eyes. By removing the sagging, drooping skin on your upper eyelids, this procedure has a rejuvenating effect on the entire area surrounding your eyes.
- It can improve previously obscured vision. If your upper eyelid have gotten so puffy and saggy that they are interfering with your vision, eyelid surgery will remove the sagging skin and you will have a clear range of vision once again.
- The results are long-lasting. Although your skin will become droopy again with age, the results of eyelid surgery last for many years and can permanently turn back the clock on these particular signs of aging.
- You will look a lot younger. By removing excess, drooping eyelid skin on the upper and/or lower eyelids, this procedure can take years off your face. Drooping upper eyes and bags underneath our eyes have a profound aging effect.
- The procedure may be covered by insurance. If you need upper eyelid surgery because sagging lids are obscuring your vision, then your health insurance may provide coverage for the procedure.
If you live in or around The Main Line, Philadelphia, King of Prussia or Wayne, PA and are interested in blepharoplasty surgery, please call the Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery at (610) 687.8771.

Is it ever too early or too late for BOTOX®, you may wonder. The only concern would be for the lower end of the age spectrum. You must of course be a consenting adult, but some men and women have started getting "preventive" BOTOX treatments to stop wrinkles long before they form. Really the best way to know for sure whether now is the right time is to talk to an experienced BOTOX provider. Our oculo-plastic surgeons and our skin rejuvenation team can help you decide if you can benefit from BOTOX now or if it's better to delay treatment.
BOTOX treats those wrinkles that are formed by the repeated folding of the skin over the years. So, for instance, the repeated muscle contractions when you furrow your brow eventually form the two vertical lines between your eyebrows. So, the theory with early BOTOX is that it stops the skin folding from happening in the first place, so the deep furrows will never form.
The drawback to beginning BOTOX in your 20s is that it will become costly to maintain it over the years. You will have to pay for it every 4 months to maintain the effect, whereas other people don't start investing in BOTOX injections until later in life.
Whether you're in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or any age above, our experienced team wants to help you determine the best way to refresh the appearance of your skin. We can provide individualized recommendations based on your goals.
If you are searching for an experienced greater Philadelphia BOTOX® provider, please contact Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery to schedule a consultation.
For the vast majority of patients, BOTOX® injections are not a painful experience. In fact, this injectable is a great way to get facial rejuvenation results fast without downtime and with the most minimal discomfort. You may feel a little pain or discomfort depending on your tolerance for needle injections. Some people prefer to have the area numbed with ice or a topical anesthetic before the injection, but other people don't feel these measures are necessary at all.
It is possible to experience certain side effects in the hours and the first day or two after BOTOX® injections. At the injection site, you may experience some of the following side effects:
BOTOX® provides effective rejuvenation for about 4 months for frown lines between your eyebrows, crow's feet at the corner of your eyes, horizontal forehead lines, and smoker's lines around your mouth. Once the effect starts to wane, you can return to our Philadelphia practice for another injection appointment.
If you are searching for an experienced Philadelphia BOTOX provider who provides natural, rejuvenating results in a state-of-the-art setting, please contact Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery.

Like any other surgical procedure, the blepharoplasty procedure (eyelid surgery) will require you to take some downtime to heal and recover. Each person's experience of surgical recovery is a little different, and we will make sure you are fully prepared for yours. We'll provide you with aftercare instructions as well as contact information for any questions or concerns you have as you recover. Our aftercare instructions will let you know how to have a successful recovery, including what to plan for in regard to the following:
- Time off from work
- Restrictions on exercise and other physical activity
- Dietary restrictions
- Returning for follow-up appointments
- Take prescribed medications, if applicable
- Protecting your eyes from sun exposure
As your incisions heal over time, the already inconspicuous scars will become lighter and flatter, leaving you with a naturally rejuvenated facial appearance. We are committed to your safety, well-being and satisfaction with your results.
If you live in or around Philadelphia and want to know more about blepharoplasty and whether you are a good candidate for the procedure, please contact Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery to schedule a consultation, or call us at (610) 687.8771.
In certain situations, upper eyelid surgery is covered by Medicare or private health insurance, it just depends on how your eyelids are affecting your vision. If your upper eyelids are obscuring your vision, then many insurance policies will cover surgery to restore your field of vision. To determine if you are eligible for this coverage, you may need to undergo a visual field exam and have photographs taken of your eye area. Our office will help you determine the requirements if you are eligible for coverage.
Lower eyelid surgery is rarely, if ever, covered by insurance. Improving the lower eyelids is just about always considered cosmetic. If the insurance company decides upper or lower eyelid surgery is for cosmetic reasons alone, then coverage is not typically provided. Instead, it tends to be provided only if your blepharoplasty is deemed medically necessary to improve how well you see.
When you visit our office for your consultation, our experienced staff will provide you with an estimate for the procedure you are interested in. We'll also inform you of any payment and financing options available to you.
If you want to find out if you are a good candidate for upper or lower eyelid surgery in the greater Philadelphia and King of Prussia areas, please contact Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery to schedule a personalized consultation with experienced oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Ken Morgenstern.
According to a recent study presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, older men and women who undergo cosmetic surgery do not experience significantly higher rates of complications compared to younger adults who undergo cosmetic procedures. Researchers also found that the older group of patients underwent more aesthetic facial procedures than the younger group.
Researchers noted that America's aging population is increasingly pursuing cosmetic surgery rejuvenation, and that many of these patients and their doctors want to know if the 65+ population is at a greater risk of complications. Researchers reviewed a database of patients containing information dating back to May 2008 to analyze and compare complication rates. Of course, cosmetic surgery is not right for everyone. At Morgenstern Center, we are committed to your safety and wellbeing, and Dr. Morgenstern makes sure you are a good candidate for the procedure you are requesting.
Important aspects of the study include:
- The mean age of elderly patients was 69 years old
- The mean age of younger patients was 39 years old
- Post-operative complications among the older group occurred at a rate of 1.94 percent
- Post-operative complications among the younger group occurred at a rate of 1.84 percent

With autumn in full swing, facial plastic surgery and an effective skincare routine can refresh, rejuvenate and brighten your facial appearance all season long. At Morgernstern Center, we provide a wide range of facial plastic surgery procedures, including:
We also provide non-surgical services such as skin peels and laser skin treatments. The fall can be a great time to finally commit to one of these procedures if you have been considering one. And by pursuing healthy skin habits, you can maintain your results longer:
- Cleanse and moisturize your skin daily
- Keep your body and skin hydrated by drinking water throughout the day
- Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables
- Stay out of the sunlight for long periods of time or make sure your face is well protected with sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat
As the air gets drier, it's important to keep your skin hydrated. Dehydration can make your skin look old and tired. And although the sun is less intense than the summertime sun, it's still important to protect your skin from damaging UV rays.

As you age, one of the first places you will notice physical changes may be your face. If these facial changes are making you unhappy and if you would like to restore youthfulness to your face, then a face lift may be a good rejuvenation option. The only way to know for sure if you are a good candidate is to visit our experienced oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Ken Morgenstern for a consultation, but ask yourself the following questions to get an idea of whether you can benefit from this type of procedure:
- Do you have sagging skin on your face, particularly on the mid and lower face?
- Do you have jowls?
- Do you have a double chin formed by drooping skin and excess fat?
- Do you have deep folds extending from the corners of your nose to the corners of your mouth?
- Do you have deep folds extending from the corners of your nose down toward your chin?
- Has the fat beneath your skin descended, creating hollows and displaced bags of fat?
If you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, then you may be a good candidate for a face lift.
If you are searching for an extensively experienced and skilled Philadelphia face lift surgeon, please contact Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery to schedule a consultation with our experienced facial surgeon Ken Morgenstern, MD, FACS.
The results of eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) are generally long lasting. It's not uncommon for the longevity of results to vary slightly between patients, but you can expect the results of the upper eyelids to last about 5 to 7 years, and the lower eyelid results are essentially permanent. With the upper eyelids, after several years the skin may begin to sag again. A common reason is that the forehead and brow sag over time, pushing down on the skin above your eyelids. In such cases, you may benefit from a brow lift to raise and smooth the skin on your brow.
Eyelid surgery has a dramatic but natural rejuvenation effect. The procedure is ideal for:
- Puffy or hanging skin concealing the natural curve and crease of your upper eyelids.
- Skin above the upper eyelids is bulging over your eyelashes.
- Fine lines beneath your eyes.
- Bags of sagging excess fat beneath your eyes.
Blepharoplasty is one of the most effective ways to enjoy long-term rejuvenation results. During a personalized consultation, Dr. Ken Morgenstern can help you decide if it's right for you.

The first full day of Fall is Tuesday, September 23. With temperatures cooling and days getting shorter, your thoughts may have shifted to rejuvenating your look for the new season. After the summer, your skin can look tired and damaged by spending long days in the sun. With the non-surgical facial treatments at our Suite 202 spa, you can refresh the appearance of your skin with the convenience of procedures that do not involve surgery. Some of the issues we can address at our med spa include:
- Age spots
- Sun damage
- Fine lines
Over the years, not only does sun exposure age your skin, the repeated actions of facial muscles create folds between the eyebrows, at the corners of your eyes and across your forehead. With BOTOX® Cosmetic, we can soften those lines so you can put your best face forward this autumn.
You deserve to look and feel great. Visit Dr. Morgenstern for an individualized consultation to find out how you can restore your most youthful, attractive appearance this fall.

Also known as an eye lift or blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery is intended to make the face appear younger by reducing under eye bagginess and by removing sagging skin in the upper eyelids. The surgery may also improve vision in older patients whose vision is impeded by sagging upper eyelids.
Overall, if you are unhappy with the appearance of your upper or lower eyelids, you are probably a good candidate for this procedure. Eyelid surgery can do wonders for the youthfulness of your face by rejuvenating the entire eye area with just one procedure.
People who are overall healthy and have realistic expectations are the best candidates for eyelid surgery. It is important to note that while the surgery may make the eyes appear younger, aging will continue to occur in the skin after eyelid surgery. Results on the upper lids tend to last five to seven years while the lower lids rarely require a repeat procedure. Most patients are over age 35; however, some elect to have the surgery at an earlier age if they find that sagging eyelids is hereditary. The only way to know for sure if you are a good candidate is to visit Dr. Ken Morgenstern for a one-on-one consultation.

Over time, sun, stress and aging inevitably leave telltale signs on your face. You may notice a loss of skin elasticity, grooves between your nose and mouth, or general sagging of the lower two-thirds of your face. Perhaps it is a certain lack of firmness in your jawline or the development of loose skin around your neck that dissatisfies you. A single look in your mirror demonstrates that these issues can visibly age you. But, they are also signs that you might see real benefits from a rhytidectomy, a procedure more commonly known as a face lift.

When performing a face lift, a skilled oculoplastic surgeon tightens the muscles and tissues beneath the skin, artfully reshaping them to create a natural, more youthful face. Any excess skin and fat are removed, leaving behind a healthy, younger-looking profile. For many patients, the procedure can erase as much as decade from their appearance. While a facelift does not stop aging, it resets the clock. Results last for years.
